Doctrines of the Bible

Assurance Of Salvation:

Assurance of Salvation (Soteriology) through Jesus Christ is the fundamental belief of Christianity. This assurance is found in God Himself. He is the keeper (and provider) of our salvation. We are kept by His power (1 Pet.1:5). Our salvation is sealed by the Holy Spirit (Eph. 4:30). No man can pluck us out of the Fathers hand (John 10:28) and nothing can separate us from the Fathers love (Romans 8:38-39). We can have a special confidence in our Eternal Inheritance that only comes through God's pledge to never forsake us or leave us (Hebrews 13:5). This guarantee is what assures us of our salvation. Assurance of Salvation is Eternal security.

Even though God has done all the work we are still required to repent (turn away) from a sinful life, recognize Jesus as Lord of our life and believe with faith that God raised Jesus from the dead as a sign of approval for Jesus' sacrifice on our behalf on the cross.

"Our Salvation is secure because God does the holding." Nothing can overcome the Divine power that keeps us in Christ. What a great assurance it is to know that we are not secure because of our own strength to hold onto Him, but because of His power by which He holds on to us.(1)

Miscellaneous:

Those whom God willed for salvation before the foundation of the world (Eph. 1:4; 2 Tim. 1:9) will in faith embrace Christ. As He declared in John 6:37 "All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out."(2)
